A woman from Khathaam asked the Prophet ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage, while Fadl bin Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said, "Messenger of Allah, Allah's obligation upon His servants to perform the pilgrimage has reached my father as a very old man who cannot remain steady on a mount. May I perform the pilgrimage on his behalf?"He replied, "Yes, perform the pilgrimage on behalf of your father."

أن امرأة من خثعم سألت النبي ﷺ في حجة الوداع والفضل بن عباس رديف رسول الله ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إن فريضة الله في الحج على عباده أدركت أبي شيخا كبيرا لا يستطيع أن يستمسك على الراحلة أفأحج عنه فقال نعم حجي عن أبيك
