The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not fix a specific punishment for drinking wine.Ibn Abbas said, "A man drank and became intoxicated. He was met staggering along a road, and they took him to the Prophet ﷺ. When he came alongside the house of Abbas, he broke away and rushed in to Abbas, clinging to him from behind. They mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, and he laughed and said, 'He actually did that?'" Then he did not give them any instruction concerning him.
حدثنا روح بن عبادة حدثنا زكريا حدثنا عمرو بن دينار عن عكرمة
أن رسول الله ﷺ لم يقت في الخمر حدا قال ابن عباس شرب رجل فسكر فلقي يميل في فج فانطلق به إلى النبي ﷺ قال فلما حاذى بدار عباس انفلت فدخل على عباس فالتزمه من ورائه فذكروا ذلك للنبي ﷺ فضحك وقال قد فعلها ثم لم يأمرهم فيه بشيء
