The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not look at the one who lets his garment trail below his ankles."

Its isnad is sahih. Shayban is Ibn Abdul-Rahman Nahwi. Ashath is Ibn Abu Shatha Sulaym Muharibi, who is a reliable narrator among the trusted teachers of the people of Kufah, and the authors of the six books cited him as a source. The hadith was also related by Nasai (2:299) through Shubah, from Ashath.The musbil is the one who lets his garment hang long and trails it on the ground when he walks, doing so out of pride and arrogance. This is what Ibn Athir said.
