A daughter of Uthman bin Affan died in Mecca, and Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas came to attend her funeral. I was sitting between the two of them when Ibn Umar said to Amr bin Uthman, who was facing him, "Will you not forbid the weeping? For the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The deceased is tormented by his family's weeping over him.'"He then mentioned a report similar to the hadith of Ismail from Ayub from Ibn Abu Mulayka.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أنبأنا ابن جريج أخبرني
توفيت ابنة لعثمان بن عفان بمكة فحضرها ابن عمر وابن عباس وإني لجالس بينهما فقال ابن عمر لعمرو بن عثمان وهو مواجهه ألا تنهى عن البكاء فإن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن الميت ليعذب ببكاء أهله عليه فذكر نحو حديث إسماعيل عن أيوب عن ابن أبي مليكة
