The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "This city is sacred. Allah has made it sacred. Killing was never permitted in it for anyone before me, and it was made permissible for me only for an hour of the day. It is sacred by Allah's sanctity until the Day of Resurrection. Its game is not to be startled, its thorny shrubs are not to be cut, its lost property is not to be picked up except by one who will announce it, and its fresh grass is not to be uprooted."Abbas said, "Messenger of Allah, except for idhkhir grass, for it is used in their houses and by their blacksmiths."He said, "Except for idhkhir. There is no migration after the conquest, but rather jihad and intention, and when you are called to march out, then march out."
Its isnad is sahih. Mubashshir is Ibn Muhalhal Saadi, and he is trustworthy, firmly reliable, a man of sunnah, virtue, and jurisprudence. Ibn Hibban said in Thiqat, "He was among the austere worshippers, one of those preferred over Thawri." Bukhari gave his biography in Kabir 4/1/406, and the hadith is given in full at 2353 and 2396.
