Fatimah fell into the illness from which she eventually passed away, and I was nursing her through it. One day she awoke looking better than I had seen her at any point during that illness.Ali had gone out to attend to some need of his. She said, "Mother, pour out water for me to wash with."So I poured out water for her, and she bathed in the finest manner I had ever seen her bathe.Then she said, "Mother, give me my new clothes."I gave them to her, and she put them on.Then she said, "Mother, place my bedding for me in the middle of the room."I did so. She lay down, faced the qiblah, and placed her hand beneath her cheek.Then she said, "Mother, I am about to be taken now. I am about to be taken now. I have purified myself, so let no one uncover me."She passed away in that very spot.Then Ali came, and I informed him.

اشتكت فاطمة شكواها التي قبضت فيه فكنت أمرضها فأصبحت يوما كأمثل ما رأيتها في شكواها تلك قالت وخرج علي لبعض حاجته فقالت يا أمه اسكبي لي غسلا فسكبت لها غسلا فاغتسلت كأحسن ما رأيتها تغتسل ثم قالت يا أمه أعطيني ثيابي الجدد فأعطيتها فلبستها ثم قالت يا أمه قدمي لي فراشي وسط البيت ففعلت واضطجعت واستقبلت القبلة وجعلت يدها تحت خدها ثم قالت يا أمه إني مقبوضة الآن إني مقبوضة الآن وقد تطهرت فلا يكشفني أحد فقبضت مكانها قالت فجاء علي فأخبرته
Its chain is daif. Ubaydullah bin Ali bin Abu Rafi is lenient in hadith, and his father is unknown. Haythami said, "Many have attacked this hadith and considered it fabricated, but it is not so. At most, it could be an error on the part of the narrators."
