Abu Darda reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Is any one of you unable to recite a third of the Quran in a single night?"They replied, "We are too weak and incapable of that."He said, "Allah has divided the Quran into three parts, and He has made 'Say, He is Allah, the One' equivalent to one of those parts."

حدثنا محمد بن بكر وعبد الوهاب قالا أخبرنا سعيد عن قتادة عن سالم بن أبي الجعد عن معدان بن أبي طلحة اليعمري

عن أبي الدرداء

عن رسول الله ﷺ قال أما يستطيع أحدكم أن يقرأ ثلث القرآن في ليلة قالوا نحن أضعف من ذلك وأعجز قال إن الله عز وجل جزأ القرآن ثلاثة أجزاء فجعل قل هو الله أحد جزءا من أجزاء القرآن
