Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf reported,

I went to visit Subayah bint Abu Barza al-Aslamiyyah and asked her about her situation.She said, "I was married to Saad bin Khawla, and he passed away. Only two months had gone by when I gave birth. Then Abu Sanabil bin Bakak, of the tribe of Banu Abd al-Dar, proposed to me, so I prepared myself for marriage. My in-law came in while I had applied henna and made myself ready, and he asked, 'What are you intending, Subayah?'I replied, 'I intend to marry.'He said, 'By Allah, you cannot take a husband until you complete a waiting period of four months and ten days.'So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned this to him, and he ﷺ said to me, 'You have already become lawful to marry, so go ahead and marry.'"

عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن قال

دخلت على سبيعة بنت أبي برزة الأسلمية فسألتها عن أمرها فقالت كنت عند سعد ابن خولة فتوفي عني فلم أمكث إلا شهرين حتى وضعت قالت فخطبني أبو السنابل بن بعكك أخو بني عبد الدار فتهيأت للنكاح قالت فدخل علي حموي وقد اختضبت وتهيأت فقال ماذا تريدين يا سبيعة قالت فقلت أريد أن أتزوج قال والله ما لك من زوج حتى تعتدين أربعة أشهر وعشرا قالت فجئت رسول الله ﷺ فذكرت ذلك له فقال ﷺ لي قد حللت فتزوجي
