The Prophet ﷺ said, "I saw what my nation will face after me, including their shedding one another's blood. This had already been decreed by Allah Almighty, just as it was decreed for the nations before. So I asked Him to grant me intercession for them on the Day of Resurrection, and He did."Abdullah said, I asked my father, "There are people here who narrate this from Abu Yaman, from Shuayb, from Zuhri."He replied, "This is not from the hadith of Zuhri. It is rather from the hadith of Ibn Abu Husayn."
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب بن أبي حمزة فذكر هذا الحديث يتلو أحاديث ابن أبي حسين وقال أنا أنس بن مالك
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال رأيت ما تلقى أمتي بعدي وسفك بعضهم دماء بعض وسبق ذلك من الله تعالى كما سبق في الأمم فسألته أن يوليني شفاعة يوم القيامة فيهم ففعل قال عبد الله قلت لأبي هاهنا قوم يحدثون به عن أبي اليمان عن شعيب عن الزهري قال ليس هذا من حديث الزهري إنما هو من حديث ابن أبي حسين
Its isnad is sahih. Hakim also graded it sahih (1/68) and Dhahabi agreed with him. But Hakim differed from Ahmad, for he related it from Abu Hasan Ali bin Muhammad, who said, Yahya bin Muhammad bin Saad narrated to us, who said, Ibrahim bin Hani Nisaburi narrated to us, who said, Abu Yaman said to us, "The hadith is the hadith of Zuhri, and what I narrated to you from Ibn Abu Husayn, I made a mistake in it by turning over the wrong page."Hakim said, "This is like taking it by the hand, for Ibrahim bin Hani is trustworthy and reliable." End of quote.The hadith is likewise found in Tabarani's Al-Kabir (23/221, no. 409) and in Al-Awsat (140 and 411, Majma Bahrayn), and in Ibn Abu Asim's Al-Sunnah (no. 800).
