A relative of Umm Habibah died, so she called for some yellow perfume and rubbed it on her forearms. She said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say," or she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for any deceased person more than three days, except for a husband, for whom she mourns four months and ten days.'"
حدثنا يحيى عن شعبة قال حدثني حميد بن نافع
أن أم حبيبة مات نسيب لها أو قريب لها فدعت بصفرة فمسحت به ذراعيها وقالت سمعت رسول الله ﷺ أو قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يحل لامرأة تؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر أن تحد على ميت فوق ثلاث إلا على زوج فإنها تحد عليه أربعة أشهر وعشرا
