The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to visit her every Friday. She said, "Prophet of Allah, on the day of Badr, will you allow me to go out with you so I may tend to your sick and treat your wounded? Perhaps Allah will grant me martyrdom."He replied, "Stay in your home, for Allah will grant you martyrdom."She had freed a slave-girl and a slave-boy of hers contingent upon her death. After some time had passed, the two of them smothered her with a velvet cloth until she died, then fled.Umar was informed, "Umm Waraqah has been killed by her slave-boy and slave-girl, who have run away."Umar then stood before the people and announced, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit Umm Waraqah and would say, 'Come, let us visit the martyr.' Her slave-girl and slave-boy smothered her and then fled. No one is to give them shelter, and whoever finds them must bring them in."They were brought in and crucified, and they were the first two to be crucified.
