When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umm Salama, he said to her, "I had sent the Negus a gift of a robe and several ounces of musk, but I believe the Negus has died and my gift will be returned to me. If it is returned, it is yours."It happened just as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. His gift was returned to him, so he gave each of his wives an ounce of musk, and he gave Umm Salama the remainder of the musk along with the robe.

Its isnad is daif, due to the unknown status of Uqbah, the father of Musa, who is Uqbah bin Abu Ayyash. They did not give a biography for him, nor did they give one for his mother either, so the hadith is daif on account of this route.Haythami said in 4/147, "I do not know Umm Musa."Hakim graded it sahih in 2/188, but Dhahabi disagreed with him regarding Muslim bin Khalid Zanji.
