Rifa Bajali said, I entered upon Mukhtar bin Abu Ubayd in his palace and heard him say, "Jibreel has just risen from beside me a moment ago."I was about to strike his neck, but then I recalled a hadith that Sulayman bin Surad narrated to us from the Prophet ﷺ, that the Prophet ﷺ used to say, "If a man entrusts you with his safety, do not kill him."He had indeed entrusted me with his safety, so I refrained from shedding his blood.

قال رفاعة البجلي دخلت على المختار بن أبي عبيد قصره فسمعته يقول ما قام جبريل إلا من عندي قبل قال فهممت أن أضرب عنقه فذكرت حديثا حدثناه سليمان بن صرد عن النبي ﷺ أن النبي ﷺ كان يقول إذا أمنك الرجل على دمه فلا تقتله قال وكان قد أمنني على دمه فكرهت دمه
