She was a neighbor of Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and she used to visit her. The Prophet ﷺ came in, and Umm Sulaym said, "Messenger of Allah, tell me, if a woman sees in her dream that her husband is having intercourse with her, must she perform the ritual bath?"Umm Salama said, "May your hands be covered in dust, Umm Sulaym. You have embarrassed women before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Umm Sulaym replied, "Allah is not shy of the truth, and our asking the Prophet ﷺ about matters that puzzle us is better than remaining in the dark about them."The Prophet ﷺ said to Umm Salama, "Rather, may your own hands be covered in dust. Yes, Umm Sulaym, she must perform the ritual bath if she finds the fluid."Umm Salama said, "Messenger of Allah, do women also have fluid?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then how else does her child resemble her? Women are the counterparts of Some men."
حدثنا أبو المغيرة قال حدثنا الأوزاعي قال حدثني إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة الأنصاري
كانت مجاورة أم سلمة زوج النبي ﷺ فكانت تدخل عليها فدخل النبي ﷺ فقالت أم سليم يا رسول الله أرأيت إذا رأت المرأة أن زوجها يجامعها في المنام أتغتسل فقالت أم سلمة تربت يداك يا أم سليم فضحت النساء عند رسول الله ﷺ فقالت أم سليم إن الله لا يستحي من الحق وإنا إن نسأل النبي ﷺ عما أشكل علينا خير من أن نكون منه على عمياء فقال النبي ﷺ لأم سلمة بل أنت تربت يداك نعم يا أم سليم عليها الغسل إذا وجدت الماء فقالت أم سلمة يا رسول الله وهل للمرأة ماء فقال النبي ﷺ فأنى يشبهها ولدها هن شقائق الرجال
