The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came one day in haste, ascended the pulpit, and a call went out among the people that the prayer was about to be held in congregation. The people gathered, and he said, "People, I have not summoned you because of some favorable news, nor because of any alarming matter. Rather, Tamim al-Dari has informed me that a group of men from Palestine boarded a ship at sea, and the wind cast them onto one of the islands of the sea. There they encountered a beast covered so heavily in hair that they could not tell whether it was male or female.They asked, 'Who are you?'It replied, 'I am al-Jassasah.'They said, 'Then tell us about things.'It answered, 'I will neither inform you nor seek information from you. But in this monastery there is a man eager to inform you and eager to be informed by you.'So they entered the monastery, and there they found a one-eyed man bound in iron chains.He asked, 'Who are you?'We said, 'We are Arabs.'He asked, 'Has the Prophet been sent among you?'They said, 'Yes.'He asked, 'Have the Arabs followed him?'They said, 'Yes.'He said, 'That is better for them.'Then he asked, 'What has happened to Persia? Has he prevailed over them?'They said, 'He has not yet prevailed over them.'He said, 'He will indeed prevail over them.'Then he asked, 'What of the spring of Zughar?'They said, 'It is overflowing and full.'He asked, 'And what of the palm trees of Baysan? Have they borne fruit?'They said, 'The earliest of them have already borne fruit.'Then he gave such a leap that we thought he would break free, so we asked, 'Who are you?'He said, 'I am the Dajjal. I shall tread upon every land except Makkah and Taybah.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Rejoice, company of Muslims. This is Taybah, which he, meaning the Dajjal, will not enter."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد قال حدثنا حماد يعني ابن سلمة عن داود يعني ابن أبي هند عن الشعبي
أن رسول الله ﷺ جاء ذات يوم مسرعا فصعد المنبر ونودي في الناس الصلاة جامعة فاجتمع الناس فقال يا أيها الناس إني لم أدعكم لرغبة نزلت ولا لرهبة ولكن تميما الداري أخبرني أن نفرا من أهل فلسطين ركبوا البحر فقذفتهم الريح إلى جزيرة من جزائر البحر فإذا هم بدابة أشعر ما يدرى أذكر هو أم أنثى لكثرة شعره قالوا من أنت فقالت أنا الجساسة فقالوا فأخبرينا فقالت ما أنا بمخبرتكم ولا مستخبرتكم ولكن في هذا الدير رجل فقير إلى أن يخبركم وإلى أن يستخبركم فدخلوا الدير فإذا رجل أعور مصفد في الحديد فقال من أنتم قلنا نحن العرب فقال هل بعث فيكم النبي قالوا نعم قال فهل اتبعته العرب قالوا نعم قال ذلك خير لهم قال ما فعلت فارس هل ظهر عليها قالوا لم يظهر عليها بعد فقال أما إنه سيظهر عليها ثم قال ما فعلت عين زغر قالوا هي تدفق ملأى قال فما فعل نخل بيسان هل أطعم قالوا قد أطعم أوائله قال فوثب وثبة حتى ظننا أنه سيفلت فقلنا من أنت قال أنا الدجال أما إني سأطأ الأرض كلها غير مكة وطيبة فقال رسول الله ﷺ أبشروا يا معشر المسلمين هذه طيبة لا يدخلها يعني الدجال
