My mother came to visit me while she was still a polytheist, during the period when Quraysh had made a treaty with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So I sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "My mother has come to me, and she is hoping for my kindness. Should I maintain ties with her?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes, maintain ties with your mother."
حدثنا حسن قال حدثنا ابن لهيعة قال حدثنا أبو الأسود أنه سمع عروة يحدث
قدمت أمي وهي مشركة في عهد قريش إذ عاهدوا رسول الله ﷺ فاستفتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت أمي قدمت وهي راغبة أفأصلها فقال رسول الله ﷺ نعم صلي أمك
