The Messenger of Allah ﷺ camped in the upper part of Mecca on the day of the Conquest. I came to him, and Abu Dharr brought a large bowl containing water. She said, "I could still see traces of dough in it." She said that Abu Dharr then screened him while he bathed, after which the Prophet ﷺ prayed eight rakahs. This was during the forenoon.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق قال حدثنا معمر عن ابن طاوس عن المطلب بن عبد الله بن حنطب
نزل رسول الله ﷺ يوم الفتح بأعلى مكة فأتيته فجاء أبو ذر بجفنة فيها ماء قالت إني لأرى فيها أثر العجين قالت فستره يعني أبا ذر فاغتسل ثم صلى النبي ﷺ ثمان ركعات وذلك في الضحى

Its isnad is sahih. Muttalib bin Abdullah bin Hantab is trustworthy, but his narration from the companions is disconnected. This is what Bukhari and others said. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari, 1/57, Shaab edition, Book of Shortening the Prayer, on voluntary prayer during travel, and by Muslim, 1/497, on travelers, and it has come up many times before.
