I asked Miqsam, "May I pray three rakats of witr and then go out to the prayer, fearing that I might miss it?"He replied, "It is not proper except with five or seven."I informed Mujahid and Yahya bin Jazzar of his statement, and they said to me, "Ask him on whose authority he reports this."So I asked him, and he said, "On the authority of a trustworthy source, from Maymunah and Ayesha, from the Prophet ﷺ."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ويحيى بن سعيد عن شعبة قال حدثني
سألت مقسما قال قلت أوتر بثلاث ثم أخرج إلى الصلاة مخافة أن تفوتني قال لا يصلح إلا بخمس أو سبع فأخبرت مجاهدا ويحيى بن الجزار بقوله فقالا لي سله عمن فسألته فقال عن الثقة عن ميمونة وعائشة عن النبي ﷺ
