Maymuna bint Harith sent me to the wife of Abdullah bin Abbas, who was a relative of hers. I noticed that her bed was set apart from his, and I assumed this was due to some estrangement between them. When I asked her about it, she replied, "No, it is not that. I am menstruating, and whenever I menstruate, he does not come near my bed."I went back to Maymuna and told her what had happened, and she sent me back to Ibn Abbas with this message, "Do you turn away from the practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sleep beside whichever of his wives was menstruating, with nothing between them but a garment that did not extend past the knees."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق عن الزهري عن عروة
أرسلتني ميمونة بنت الحارث إلى امرأة عبد الله بن عباس وكانت بينهما قرابة فرأيت فراشها معتزلا فراشه فظننت أن ذلك لهجران فسألتها فقالت لا ولكني حائض فإذا حضت لم يقرب فراشي فأتيت ميمونة فذكرت ذلك لها فردتني إلى ابن عباس فقالت أرغبة عن سنة رسول الله ﷺ لقد كان رسول الله ﷺ ينام مع المرأة من نسائه الحائض وما بينهما إلا ثوب ما يجاوز الركبتين

Its isnad is sahih. Budayyah, the freed slave of Maymuna, is trustworthy, and her hadith appears in the Sunan works. She is also called Nudbah, and it is said that she had companionship with the Prophet. The hadith has already appeared at 25292.
