Umm Salama bint Abu Umaya reported,

When Abu Salama died and her waiting period ended, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to her.She said, "Messenger of Allah, there are three things about me. I am an old woman."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am older than you."She said, "And I am a jealous woman."He said, "I will pray to Allah to take your jealousy away from you."She said, "Messenger of Allah, and I am a woman with young children."He said, "They are the concern of Allah and His Messenger."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her. He came to her and found her nursing, so he left. Then he came again and found her nursing, so he left.News of this reached Ammar bin Yasir, so he came to her and said, "You are standing between the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and what he needs. Bring me the little girl."He took her and arranged for someone else to nurse her. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to her and asked, "Where is Zanab?" meaning Zaynab.She said, "Messenger of Allah, Ammar took her."So he went in to her and said, "You have an honored place with your family." He stayed with her until evening, then said, "If you wish, I will give you seven nights, but if I give you seven, I will give seven to the rest of my wives. Or if you wish, I will give you the regular share."She said, "No, give me the regular share."

عن أم سلمة

أن أبا سلمة لما توفي عنها وانقضت عدتها خطبها رسول الله ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إن في ثلاث خصال أنا امرأة كبيرة فقال رسول الله ﷺ أنا أكبر منك قالت وأنا امرأة غيور قال أدعو الله عز وجل فيذهب عنك غيرتك قالت يا رسول الله وأنا امرأة مصبية قال هم إلى الله وإلى رسوله قال فتزوجها رسول الله ﷺ قال فأتاها فوجدها ترضع فانصرف ثم أتاها فوجدها ترضع فانصرف قال فبلغ ذلك عمار بن ياسر فأتاها فقال حلت بين رسول الله ﷺ وبين حاجته هلم الصبية قال فأخذها فاسترضع لها فأتاها رسول الله ﷺ فقال أين زناب يعني زينب قالت يا رسول الله أخذها عمار فدخل بها وقال إن بك على أهلك كرامة قال فأقام عندها إلى العشي ثم قال إن شئت سبعت لك وإن سبعت لك سبعت لسائر نسائي وإن شئت قسمت لك قالت لا بل اقسم لي
