Abu Salama reported,

He informed him that he and Ibn Abbas had gathered with Abu Hurairah, and they sent Kurayb, the freedman of Ibn Abbas, to Umm Salama to ask her about this matter. Umm Salama related that Sabia al-Aslamiyya's husband died, and a few nights later she gave birth. Sabia mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he instructed her that she could marry.

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا يحيى بن سعيد أن سليمان بن يسار أخبره أن

أبا سلمة

أخبره أنه اجتمع هو وابن عباس عند أبي هريرة فبعثوا كريبا مولى ابن عباس إلى أم سلمة يسألها فذكرت أم سلمة أن سبيعة الأسلمية توفي عنها زوجها فنفست بعده بليال فذكرت سبيعة ذلك لرسول الله ﷺ فأمرها أن تتزوج
