The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is overtaken by dawn in a state of major impurity, his fast is not valid."So my father and I set out and went to Umm Salama and Ayesha and asked them about this. They both informed us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sometimes find himself in a state of major impurity at dawn, not from a wet dream, and would still fast.Then we met Abu Hurairah, and my father told him what they had said. Abu Hurairah's face changed color, then he said, "This is how Fadl bin Abbas reported it to me, and they know better."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري عن أبي بكر بن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث بن هشام قال سمعت
قال رسول الله ﷺ من أدركه الصبح جنبا فلا صوم له قال فانطلقت أنا وأبي فدخلنا على أم سلمة وعائشة فسألناهما عن ذلك فأخبرتانا أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يصبح جنبا من غير حلم ثم يصوم فلقينا أبا هريرة فحدثه أبي فتلون وجه أبي هريرة ثم قال هكذا حدثني الفضل بن عباس وهن أعلم
