I went in to see Hafsah bint Abdul-Rahman and said, "I want to ask you about something, but I feel too embarrassed to ask."She said, "Don't be embarrassed, nephew."He said, it was about approaching women in their backsides.She said, Umm Salama told me that the Ansar used to not turn their women face-down, while the Jews used to say that whoever turned his wife face-down would have a cross-eyed child. When the Muhajirun arrived in Madinah, they married women from the Ansar and turned them face-down. One woman refused to obey her husband and said to him, "You will not do that until I go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."She went in to see Umm Salama and mentioned the matter to her. Umm Salama said, "Sit until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ comes."When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived, the Ansari woman was too embarrassed to ask him, so she left. Umm Salama then told the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it.He said, "Call the Ansari woman."She was called, and he recited to her this verse, "Your wives are a tilth for you, so come to your tilth as you wish" [Baqarah 2:223], through one opening only.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا وهيب حدثنا عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم
دخلت على حفصة ابنة عبد الرحمن فقلت إني سائلك عن أمر وأنا أستحيي أن أسألك عنه فقالت لا تستحيي يا ابن أخي قال عن إتيان النساء في أدبارهن قالت حدثتني أم سلمة أن الأنصار كانوا لا يجبون النساء وكانت اليهود تقول إنه من جبى امرأته كان ولده أحول فلما قدم المهاجرون المدينة نكحوا في نساء الأنصار فجبوهن فأبت امرأة أن تطيع زوجها فقالت لزوجها لن تفعل ذلك حتى آتي رسول الله ﷺ فدخلت على أم سلمة فذكرت ذلك لها فقالت اجلسي حتى يأتي رسول الله ﷺ فلما جاء رسول الله ﷺ استحت الأنصارية أن تسأله فخرجت فحدثت أم سلمة رسول الله ﷺ فقال ادعي الأنصارية فدعيت فتلا عليها هذه الآية {نساؤكم حرث لكم فأتوا حرثكم أنى شئتم} صماما واحدا
