Umm Salama bint Abu Umaya reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When sins become widespread among my nation, Allah will send down a punishment upon them all from Himself."I asked, "Messenger of Allah, will there not be righteous people among them at that time?"He said, "Yes, there will be."She asked, "Then what will become of them?"He replied, "They will be struck by what strikes the rest of the people, but they will go on to receive forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure."

حدثنا حسين قال حدثنا خلف يعني ابن خليفة عن ليث عن علقمة بن مرثد عن المعرور بن سويد

عن أم سلمة زوج النبي ﷺ قالت

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا ظهرت المعاصي في أمتي عمهم الله عز وجل بعذاب من عنده فقلت يا رسول الله أما فيهم يومئذ أناس صالحون قال بلى قالت فكيف يصنع أولئك قال يصيبهم ما أصاب الناس ثم يصيرون إلى مغفرة من الله ورضوان
