The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in my house when a man came and asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is the zakat due on such-and-such?"He answered, "Such-and-such."The man said, "So-and-so has overcharged me."They looked into the matter and found that the collector had indeed taken from him a sa more than was due. The Prophet ﷺ then said, "How will it be with you when those who collect from you overcharge you far more severely than this?"
حدثنا زكريا بن عدي قال أخبرنا عبيد الله بن عمرو عن زيد بن أبي أنيسة عن القاسم بن عوف الشيباني عن علي بن حسين قال حدثتنا
كان رسول الله ﷺ في بيتي فجاء رجل فقال يا رسول الله ما صدقة كذا وكذا قال كذا وكذا قال فإن فلانا تعدى علي قال فنظروه فوجدوه قد تعدى عليه بصاع فقال النبي ﷺ فكيف بكم إذا سعى من يتعدى عليكم أشد من هذا التعدي
