A woman reported,

"If you wish, I will take you in to see her."I said, "No, just tell me the report yourself."She said, "I went in to see Umm Salama, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in looking as though he were angry. I screened myself from him with the sleeve of my shift. He spoke some words that I could not make out, so I said, 'Umm Muiminin, it seemed to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in angry.'She replied, 'Yes. Did you not hear what he said?'I asked, 'What did he say?'She answered, 'He said, "When evil spreads through the earth and no one puts a stop to it, Allah sends His punishment down upon the people of the earth."I said, 'Messenger of Allah, even though the righteous are among them?'He said, 'Yes, even with the righteous among them. What strikes the rest of the people strikes them as well, and then Allah gathers them to His forgiveness and His good pleasure,' or, 'to His good pleasure and His forgiveness.'"

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا شريك بن عبد الله عن جامع بن أبي راشد عن منذر الثوري عن الحسن بن محمد قال

حدثتني امرأة من الأنصار هي حية اليوم

إن شئت أدخلتك عليها قلت لا حدثني قالت دخلت على أم سلمة فدخل عليها رسول الله ﷺ كأنه غضبان فاستترت منه بكم درعي فتكلم بكلام لم أفهمه فقلت يا أم المؤمنين كأني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ دخل وهو غضبان فقالت نعم أوما سمعت ما قال قلت وما قال قالت قال إن الشر إذا فشا في الأرض فلم يتناه عنه أرسل الله عز وجل بأسه على أهل الأرض قالت قلت يا رسول الله وفيهم الصالحون قالت قال نعم وفيهم الصالحون يصيبهم ما أصاب الناس ثم يقبضهم الله عز وجل إلى مغفرته ورضوانه أو إلى رضوانه ومغفرته
