Atarid bin Hajib arrived bringing with him a silk brocade garment that Khosrow had given him. Umar said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ, why not buy it?"He replied, "This is worn only by one who has no share in the Hereafter."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي وأبو كامل وعفان قالوا حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال عفان في حديثه قال أخبرنا أنس بن سيرين عن أبي مجلز
أن عطارد بن حاجب قدم معه ثوب ديباج كساه إياه كسرى فقال عمر يا رسول الله ﷺ لو اشتريته فقال إنما يلبسه من لا خلاق له
Its isnad is sahih, and it is narrated from Ibn Umar in Bukhari 10/284 no. 5835, Muslim 3/1138 no. 2068, Abu Dawud 4/46 no. 4040, Nasai 3/96 no. 1382, Ibn Majah 2/1187 no. 3591, and Malik 2/917 no. 18.
