When the muezzin called the adhan, the Prophet ﷺ would pray two rakats, and food became forbidden. The muezzin would not call the adhan until dawn had broken.
حدثنا عبد الجبار بن محمد الخطابي في سنة ثمان ومائتين قال حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمرو الرقي عن عبد الكريم يعني الجزري عن نافع عن ابن عمر
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا أذن المؤذن صلى ركعتين وحرم الطعام وكان لا يؤذن حتى يطلع الفجر
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Kareem Jazari is Ibn Malik, and he is trustworthy, his hadith being found among all of the six books' compilers (al-Jamaah). The hadith is like the one before it.
