The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the people in the prayer of fear at Dhat al-Riqa, in the area of Nakhl. She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided the people into two groups. One group lined up behind him, while the other stood facing the enemy.She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the takbir, and the group lined up behind him said the takbir as well. Then he bowed and they bowed with him. Then he prostrated and they prostrated with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head and they raised their heads with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained seated while they performed the second prostration on their own. Then they stood and withdrew backward, walking in reverse until they took their position behind the other group facing the enemy.She said, the other group then came forward and lined up behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They said the takbir, then bowed on their own. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed his second prostration and they prostrated with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood for his second rakah, while they performed the second prostration on their own.Then both groups stood together and lined up behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bowed and they all bowed with him. Then he prostrated and they all prostrated with him. Then he raised his head and they raised their heads with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed all of this very quickly, sparing no effort to make it as brief as possible. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the salam and they gave the salam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then rose, having shared the entire prayer with the people.
حدثنا يعقوب قال حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق قال وحدثني محمد بن جعفر بن الزبير عن عروة بن الزبير
صلى رسول الله ﷺ بالناس صلاة الخوف بذات الرقاع من نخل قالت فصدع رسول الله ﷺ الناس صدعين فصفت طائفة وراءه وقامت طائفة تجاه العدو قالت فكبر رسول الله ﷺ وكبرت الطائفة الذين صفوا خلفه ثم ركع وركعوا ثم سجد فسجدوا ثم رفع رسول الله ﷺ رأسه فرفعوا معه ثم مكث رسول الله ﷺ جالسا وسجدوا لأنفسهم السجدة الثانية ثم قاموا فنكصوا على أعقابهم يمشون القهقرى حتى قاموا من ورائهم قالت فأقبلت الطائفة الأخرى فصفوا خلف رسول الله ﷺ فكبروا ثم ركعوا لأنفسهم ثم سجد رسول الله ﷺ سجدته الثانية فسجدوا معه ثم قام رسول الله ﷺ في ركعته وسجدوا هم لأنفسهم السجدة الثانية ثم قامت الطائفتان جميعا فصفوا خلف رسول الله ﷺ فركع بهم رسول الله ﷺ فركعوا جميعا ثم سجد فسجدوا جميعا ثم رفع رأسه ورفعوا معه كل ذلك من رسول الله ﷺ سريعا جدا لا يألو أن يخفف ما استطاع ثم سلم رسول الله ﷺ فسلموا فقام رسول الله ﷺ وقد شركه الناس في الصلاة كلها
