Ayesha reported,

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys, and when we reached Turban, a place between which and Madinah is a distance of one barid and several miles, a land without water, in the last part of the night a necklace of mine slipped from my neck and fell. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ halted to search for it until dawn broke, and the people had no water with them.She said, "I endured from my father what only Allah knows of rebuke and exasperation. He said, 'On every journey you cause hardship and trouble for the Muslims.'"She said, "Then Allah revealed the permission of tayammum."She said, "So the people performed tayammum and prayed."She said, "When the relief from Allah came down for the Muslims, my father said, 'By Allah, I did not know, my dear daughter, that you are truly blessed. What blessing and ease has Allah granted the Muslims through your causing them to halt!'"

حدثنا يعقوب قال حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق حدثني يحيى بن عباد بن عبد الله بن الزبير عن أبيه

عن عائشة زوج النبي ﷺ قالت

أقبلنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض أسفاره حتى إذا كنا بتربان بلد بينه وبين المدينة بريد وأميال وهو بلد لا ماء به وذلك من السحر انسلت قلادة لي من عنقي فوقعت فحبس رسول الله ﷺ لالتماسها حتى طلع الفجر وليس مع القوم ماء قالت فلقيت من أبي ما الله به عليم من التعنيف والتأفيف وقال في كل سفر للمسلمين منك عناء وبلاء قالت فأنزل الله الرخصة بالتيمم قالت فتيمم القوم وصلوا قالت يقول أبي حين جاء من الله ما جاء من الرخصة للمسلمين والله ما علمت يا بنية إنك لمباركة ماذا جعل الله للمسلمين في حبسك إياهم من البركة واليسر
