The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during his illness, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."She said, I replied, "Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man, and if he stands in your place he will weep. So tell Umar bin Khattab to lead them in prayer."She said, He responded, "Stop. Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."She said, I repeated my request, and he replied, "Stop. Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."She said, I repeated it once more, and he said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. You are like the women who tempted Yusuf."
حدثنا يعقوب قال حدثنا أبي عن أبيه أنه سمع عروة بن الزبير يقول
قال رسول الله ﷺ في شكواه مروا أبا بكر فليصل للناس قالت فقلت يا رسول الله إن أبا بكر رجل رقيق وإنه إن قام في مصلاك بكى فمر عمر بن الخطاب فليصل بهم قالت فقال مهلا مروا أبا بكر فليصل للناس قالت فعدت له فقال مهلا مروا أبا بكر فليصل للناس قالت فعدت له فقالت مروا أبا بكر فليصل للناس إنكن صواحب يوسف
