I came to Ayesha, and she asked, "Who are you?"I replied, "I am a man from the people of Egypt."He then mentioned the story. She said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'O Allah, whoever takes charge of any affair of my nation and is gentle with them, be gentle with him, and whoever is harsh with them, be harsh with him.'"
حدثنا وهب بن جرير قال حدثني أبي قال سمعت حرملة المصري يحدث
دخلت على عائشة فقالت من أنت فقلت أنا رجل من أهل مصر فذكر قصة فقالت إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول اللهم من ولي من أمر أمتي فرفق بهم فارفق به ومن شق عليهم فاشقق عليه
