The Prophet ﷺ recited this verse, "He is the One who has revealed to you the Book. Out of it there are verses that are definite in meaning, which are the principal of the Book, and others that are allegorical. Now those who have perversity in their hearts follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to cause mischief and seeking to find its hidden meaning, and no one knows its hidden meaning except Allah" [Aal Imran 3:7].Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you see those who follow what is allegorical of it, then those are the ones whom Allah has named, so beware of them."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي قال حدثنا يزيد بن إبراهيم عن ابن أبي مليكة عن القاسم بن محمد
أن النبي ﷺ تلا هذه الآية {هو الذي أنزل عليك الكتاب منه آيات محكمات هن أم الكتاب وأخر متشابهات فأما الذين في قلوبهم زيغ فيتبعون ما تشابه منه ابتغاء الفتنة وابتغاء تأويله وما يعلم تأويله إلا الله} فقال رسول الله ﷺ فإذا رأيتم الذين يتبعون ما تشابه منه فأولئك الذين سمى الله أو فهم فاحذرهم
