Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that Allah said, "Whoever humiliates a friend of Mine has declared war against Me. My servant draws near to Me with nothing more beloved to Me than the performance of what I have made obligatory upon him. My servant continues to draw near to Me through voluntary acts of worship until I love him. If he asks Me, I will give him. If he calls upon Me, I will answer him. I have not hesitated about anything I do as much as I hesitate to take the soul of My believing servant, for he hates death and I hate to cause him distress."My father said that Abu al-Mundhir said, Urwa narrated to me, saying, Ayesha narrated to me. And Abu al-Mundhir said, "Whoever harms a friend of Mine."

قال رسول الله ﷺ قال الله عز وجل من أذل لي وليا فقد استحل محاربتي وما تقرب إلي عبدي بمثل أداء الفرائض وما يزال العبد يتقرب إلي بالنوافل حتى أحبه إن سألني أعطيته وإن دعاني أجبته ما ترددت عن شيء أنا فاعله ترددي عن وفاته لأنه يكره الموت وأكره مساءته قال أبي وقال أبو المنذر قال حدثني عروة قال حدثتني عائشة وقال أبو المنذر آذى لي
