Its isnad is daif due to the weakness of Husayn bin Abdullah. It is found in Majma al-Zawaid 3:199, where it was attributed only to the Musnad. The prohibition against fasting Friday alone is established in the two Sahihs and elsewhere through the hadith of Jabir and the hadith of Abu Hurairah, and in Bukhari through the hadith of Juwayria bint Harith.
