I used to travel for trade to Syria or to Egypt. He said, Then I prepared myself to travel to Iraq, and I went in to see Ayesha, the Mother of the Believers.I said, "Umm Muiminin, I have prepared myself to travel to Iraq."She said, "What is the matter with you and your trade route? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'When one of you has provision in something, let him not abandon it until it changes for him or becomes unfamiliar to him.'"So I went to Iraq, then I came in to see her again and said, "Umm Muiminin, by Allah, I did not even recover the capital."She repeated the hadith to him, or she said the hadith just as I have related it to you.

كنت أتجر إلى الشام أو إلى مصر قال فتجهزت إلى العراق فدخلت على عائشة أم المؤمنين فقلت يا أم المؤمنين إني قد تجهزت إلى العراق فقالت ما لك ولمتجرك إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا كان لأحدكم رزق في شيء فلا يدعه حتى يتغير له أو يتنكر له فأتيت العراق ثم دخلت عليها فقلت يا أم المؤمنين والله ما رددت الرأس مال فأعادت عليه الحديث أو قالت الحديث كما حدثتك
Its isnad is daif, due to the unknown status of Nafi and Zubayr bin Ubayd, as Ahmad said and Dhahabi followed him in this, and Busiri quoted that in Sunan Ibn Majah 2/727, no. 2148.
