We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. We stopped at the place of the tree, and he said, "Whoever wishes may enter the state of ihram for umrah, and whoever wishes may enter ihram for hajj."Ayesha said, "Some of them entered ihram for umrah, and some entered ihram for hajj. I was among those who entered ihram for umrah. The day of Arafah arrived while I was menstruating, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'Undo your hair, comb it, set aside your umrah, and enter ihram for hajj.' Then on the night of Hasbah, he instructed me, and I performed an umrah in place of the one I had set aside."
