Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never struck a servant of his with his hand, nor a woman, nor did he ever strike anything with his hand except when fighting in the cause of Allah. He was never given a choice between two matters without choosing the easier of the two, unless it involved sin, in which case he was the furthest of people from it. He never took revenge for himself over anything done to him, but if the sacred limits of Allah were violated, he would take revenge for the sake of Allah .

عن عائشة قالت

ما ضرب رسول الله ﷺ بيده خادما له قط ولا امرأة ولا ضرب رسول الله ﷺ بيده شيئا قط إلا أن يجاهد في سبيل الله ولا خير بين أمرين قط إلا كان أحبهما إليه أيسرهما حتى يكون إثما فإذا كان إثما كان أبعد الناس من الإثم ولا انتقم لنفسه من شيء يؤتى إليه حتى تنتهك حرمات الله عز وجل فيكون هو ينتقم لله عز وجل
