Abu Hurairah reported,

Whenever the Prophet ﷺ intended to offer a sacrifice, he would buy two great rams, fat, white with black markings, horned, and castrated. He would slaughter one of them on behalf of those of his community who bore witness to the oneness of Allah and testified that he had delivered the message, and he would slaughter the other on behalf of Muhammad ﷺ and the family of Muhammad.

أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا أراد أن يضحي اشترى كبشين عظيمين سمينين أملحين أقرنين موجوأين فيذبح أحدهما عن أمته ممن شهد بالتوحيد وشهد له بالبلاغ وذبح الآخر عن محمد ﷺ وآل محمد
