We came to Ayesha to ask her about intimate contact for someone who is fasting, but we felt too shy, so we got up and left before asking her. We walked on, I do not know how far, and then we said, "We came to ask her about something we needed to know, and now we are going back without having asked." So we returned and said, "Umm Muiminin, we came to ask you about something, but we were too shy, so we got up and left."She said, "What is it? Ask whatever is on your minds."We said, "Did the Prophet ﷺ have intimate contact with his wives while he was fasting?"She replied, "He used to do that, but he had more control over his desire than you do."
حدثنا إسماعيل قال أخبرنا ابن عون عن إبراهيم
أتينا عائشة لنسألها عن المباشرة للصائم فاستحينا فقمنا قبل أن نسألها فمشينا لا أدري كم ثم قلنا جئنا لنسألها عن حاجة ثم نرجع قبل أن نسألها فرجعنا فقلنا يا أم المؤمنين إنا جئنا لنسألك عن شيء فاستحينا فقمنا فقالت ما هو سلا عما بدا لكما قلنا أكان النبي ﷺ يباشر وهو صائم قالت قد كان يفعل ذلك ولكنه كان أملك لإربه منكم
