Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman reported,

He came to Ayesha and said, "Abu Hurayrah is giving us the ruling that whoever wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity has no fast. What do you say about that?"She replied, "I am not the one to speak on this. The caller used to call for the prayer, and I would see the water trickling down between his shoulders, then he would pray Fajr and continue his fast."

أنه أتى عائشة فقال إن أبا هريرة يفتينا أنه من أصبح جنبا فلا صيام له فما تقولين في ذلك فقالت لست أقول في ذلك شيئا قد كان المنادي ينادي بالصلاة فأرى حدر الماء بين كتفيه ثم يصلي الفجر ثم يظل صائما
