Ayesha reported,

Ayesha said, "When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, he was leaning his back against me. Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr came in holding a tooth-stick in his hand. The Prophet ﷺ looked at it as though he wanted it, so I took the tooth-stick, softened it, and handed it to him. He began cleaning his teeth with it. Then his hand grew heavy, or it became too heavy for him, and he was saying, 'O Allah, with the highest companions, O Allah, with the highest companions,' twice. Then he passed away."Ayesha said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ died between my chest and my throat."

حدثنا إبراهيم بن خالد قال حدثنا رباح عن معمر عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه

عن عائشة أنها قالت

كان النبي ﷺ حين قبض مسند ظهره إلي قالت فدخل عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر وفي يده سواك فدعا به النبي ﷺ فأخذت السواك فطيبته ثم دفعته إليه فجعل يستن به فثقلت يده وثقل علي وهو يقول اللهم في الرفيق الأعلى اللهم في الرفيق الأعلى مرتين قالت ثم قبض تقول عائشة قبض رسول الله ﷺ وهو بين سحري ونحري
