When the Prophet ﷺ wished to eat while in a state of major ritual impurity, he would wash his hands.
حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا صالح بن أبي الأخضر عن الزهري عن عروة وأبي سلمة
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا أراد أن يأكل وهو جنب غسل يديه
Its isnad is sahih. It was previously mentioned at 24753, and this is more sahih than what came before.
