The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never given a choice between two matters without choosing the easier of the two, as long as it involved no sin. If it involved sin, he was the furthest of people from it.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن مالك عن الزهري عن عروة
ما خير رسول الله ﷺ بين أمرين قط إلا اختار أيسرهما إلا أن يكون فيه إثم فإن كان إثما كان أبعد الناس منه
