Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the illness in which he passed away, "What happened to the gold?"She said, I replied, "It is still with me."He said, "Bring it to me."So I brought it, and it was between five and nine pieces. He placed them in his hand and said, holding them, (and Yazid gestured with his hand), "What would Muhammad think of Allah if he were to meet Allah with this still in his possession? Spend it."

حدثنا يزيد قال أخبرنا محمد عن أبي سلمة

عن عائشة قالت

قال رسول الله ﷺ في وجعه الذي مات فيه ما فعلت الذهب قالت قلت وهي عندي قال ائتيني بها فجئت بها وهي ما بين التسع أو الخمس فوضعها في يده ثم قال بها وأشار يزيد بيده ما ظن محمد بالله لو لقي الله عز وجل وهذه عنده أنفقيها
