Abu Nadra reported,

Ibn Abbas addressed us from the pulpit of Basrah and said, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There has never been a prophet who was not granted a supplication that he hastened to use in this world, but I have kept my supplication in reserve as intercession for my community. I am the master of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, and I say this without boasting. I am the first for whom the earth will split open, and I say this without boasting. In my hand will be the banner of praise, and I say this without boasting. Adam and all who came after him will be beneath my banner, and I say this without boasting. The Day of Resurrection will drag on for the people, and they will say to one another, 'Come, let us go to Adam, the father of mankind, so that he may intercede for us with our Lord عز وجل and He may judge between us.'So they will come to Adam ﷺ and say, 'Adam, you are the one whom Allah created with His own hand, whom He settled in His Garden, and before whom He made His angels prostrate. Intercede for us with our Lord so that He may judge between us.'Adam will reply, 'I am not the one for that. I was expelled from the Garden because of my sin, and today nothing concerns me but myself. But go to Nuh, the foremost of the prophets.'So they will come to Nuh and say, 'Nuh, intercede for us with our Lord so that He may judge between us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. I once made a supplication that drowned the people of the earth, and today nothing concerns me but myself. But go to Ibrahim, the friend of Allah.'So they will come to Ibrahim عليه السلام and say, 'Ibrahim, intercede for us with our Lord so that He may judge between us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. I told three untruths during my life in Islam.'" And by Allah, he intended nothing by them except the defense of Allah's religion. They were his words "Indeed, I am ill" [Saffat 37:89], and his words "Rather, it was this, the largest of them, who did it. So ask them, if they can speak" [Anbiya 21:63], and his words about his wife when he came before the king, "She is my sister.""Ibrahim will say, 'Today nothing concerns me but myself. But go to Musa عليه السلام, whom Allah chose for His message and His speech.'So they will come to him and say, 'Musa, you are the one whom Allah chose for His message and to whom He spoke directly. Intercede for us with your Lord so that He may judge between us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. I killed a man when no life was owed, and today nothing concerns me but myself. But go to Isa, the spirit of Allah and His word.'So they will come to Isa and say, 'Isa, intercede for us with your Lord so that He may judge between us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. I was taken as a god besides Allah, and today nothing concerns me but myself. But tell me, if goods were placed in a sealed container, could anyone reach what was inside until the seal was broken?'They will say, 'No.'He will say, 'Muhammad ﷺ is the seal of the prophets, and he is present today, and he has been forgiven his earlier and later sins.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "So they will come to me and say, 'Muhammad, intercede for us with your Lord so that He may judge between us.'And I will say, 'I am the one for it,' until Allah عز وجل gives permission for whomever He wills and is pleased with. When Allah تبارك وتعالى wishes to separate His creation, a caller will call out, 'Where is Ahmad and his community?'We are the last yet the first. We are the last of the nations but the first to be brought to account. The nations will part to clear our path, and we will pass through with our faces and limbs shining from the traces of purification, and the nations will say, 'This community came close to being prophets, every one of them.'Then we will come to the gate of the Garden, and I will take hold of the ring of the gate and knock. It will be said, 'Who are you?'I will say, 'I am Muhammad.'So it will be opened for me, and I will come to my Lord عز وجل upon His chair," or His throne, Hammad was uncertain which, "and I will fall down in prostration before Him and praise Him with praises with which no one before me has praised Him and with which no one after me will praise Him.Then it will be said, 'Muhammad, raise your head. Ask and you will be given, speak and you will be heard, intercede and your intercession will be granted.'So I will raise my head and say, 'My Lord, my community, my community.'He will say, 'Bring out whoever has in his heart the weight of such and such,'" Hammad did not recall the exact measure, "'then I will return and prostrate again and say what I said before. It will be said, 'Raise your head, speak and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be granted.'So I will say, 'My Lord, my community, my community.'He will say, 'Bring out whoever has in his heart the weight of such and such,' something less than the first. Then I will return and prostrate and say the same again, and it will be said to me, 'Raise your head, speak and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be granted.'So I will say, 'My Lord, my community, my community.'And He will say, 'Bring out whoever has in his heart the weight of such and such,' something less than that."
