Abdullah bin Abbas reported,
One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ climbed Safa and cried out, "A morning raid! A morning raid!"Quraysh gathered around him and asked, "What is the matter with you?"He said, "Tell me, if I informed you that an enemy was about to attack you at morning or at evening, would you not believe me?"They said, "Yes, we would."He said, "Then I am a warner to you of a severe punishment that lies ahead."Abu Lahab said, "Is this why you gathered us? May you perish!"So Allah 
revealed "Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he" [Masad 111:1] to the end of the surah.

Sahihحدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن عمرو بن مرة عن سعيد بن جبير
عن ابن عباس قال
صعد رسول الله ﷺ يوما الصفا فقال يا صباحاه يا صباحاه قال فاجتمعت إليه قريش فقالوا له ما لك فقال أرأيتم لو أخبرتكم أن العدو مصبحكم أو ممسيكم أما كنتم تصدقوني فقالوا بلى قال فقال إني نذير لكم بين يدي عذاب شديد قال فقال أبو لهب ألهذا جمعتنا تبا لك قال فأنزل الله عز وجل {تبت يدا أبي لهب وتب} إلى آخر السورة
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it, 415, 567. Suyuti in Durr Manthur 6:408-409 also attributed it to Muslim, Ibn Jareer, Ibn Munzir, Ibn Abu Hatim, Ibn Mardawayh, Abu Naeem, and Bayhaqi in Dalail."Ya sabahah" (O morning of calamity). Ibn Athir said, this is a phrase spoken by one calling for help, and its origin comes from when they would cry out for a raid, because they most often carried out raids at the break of morning, and so they called the day of the raid "the day of morning." It is as if the speaker saying "ya sabahah" is saying, the enemy has overwhelmed us.
