I asked, "Mother, how did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fast?"She replied, "He used to fast until we said he would never break his fast, and he would go without fasting until we said he would never fast. I never saw him fast more in any month than he did in Shaban. He used to fast all of Shaban except for a little. In fact, he would fast the whole of it."
حدثنا ابن نمير قال حدثنا محمد يعني ابن عمرو قال حدثنا أبو سلمة
قلت أي أمه كيف كان صيام رسول الله ﷺ قالت كان يصوم حتى نقول لا يفطر ويفطر حتى نقول لا يصوم ولم أره يصوم من شهر أكثر من صيامه من شعبان كان يصوم شعبان إلا قليلا بل كان يصومه كله
