The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was struck by pain and began to groan, tossing and turning on his bed. Ayesha said, "If one of us did this, you would hold it against him."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "The righteous have hardship intensified upon them. No misfortune befalls a believer, from the prick of a thorn or anything greater, except that a sin is wiped away from him by it and he is raised a degree."
