Ayesha reported,

Aishah used to criticize the women who offered themselves to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She would say, "Does a woman not feel ashamed to offer herself without a dowry?"Then Allah revealed, or he said, Allah sent down, "You may put off whom you will of them, and take to yourself whom you will, and if you desire any whom you have set aside, there is no blame upon you" [Ahzab 33:51].She said, "I see that your Lord hastens to fulfill your desires."

أنها كانت تعير النساء اللاتي وهبن أنفسهن لرسول الله ﷺ قالت ألا تستحي المرأة أن تعرض نفسها بغير صداق فنزل أو قال فأنزل الله عز وجل {ترجي من تشاء منهن وتؤوي إليك من تشاء ومن ابتغيت ممن عزلت فلا جناح عليك} قالت إني أرى ربك عز وجل يسارع لك في هواك
